Planned Electrical Outage

In order to make improvements to a critical transmission line in the immediate vicinity, LIPA has requested a six hour shutdown of electrical service to the campus.  The time frame that has been selected for this work is Sunday, May 22nd starting at 9:00AM - you will note this coincides with the College Commencement ceremony on the Grant Campus.  This is a complete campus wide shutdown, and will affect all electrical systems other than emergency circuits which will be powered by our backup generator.   As noted, the outage is planned to last up to six hours.  If there is equipment that you are concerned will be negatively affected by being offline for this amount of time (e.g - fish tanks, refrigerators, networking equipment, etc.), please contact Plant Operations in advance of this date so that we can talk through contingency scenarios.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
