Invasion of the Flies

News Flash - There are a lot of flies around the campus this week!  Plant Operations is aware of the problem, and we are doing our best to mitigate it.  The college pest management contractor has been dispatched on numerous occasions recently, and has set new traps and serviced existing ones.  We have ordered additional control measures which will be installed near building entrances.  I have also obtained a supply of fly swatters which will be distributed early next week for those of you who want to be actively involved in assisting us with this effort.  The reality is, however, that we are situated in a heavily wooded area, next door to a composting facility, and this time of year flies will migrate inside through open doors and windows.  The forecast cold weather starting tomorrow should reduce the population significantly.  In the meantime, your patience and understanding is appreciated.
