Peconic Door Closure

The automatic doors at the East side of the Peconic Building (near the Health Services Office, facing Parking Field 2) have been closed to allow for improvements to the adjacent walkways. The North (soccer field) side doors had been previously closed in conjunction with the Montaukett Building construction. All persons entering and exiting the Peconic Building (other than in the event of an actual emergency) for the remainder of today (Thursday, July 15th), should utilize either the West or South sides of the Building via the Patio. The East side doors will be reopened tomorrow morning at 7AM. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Campus Wide Electrical Shutdown - Friday, July 30th

At yesterday's Library Construction meeting, a provisional date and time was established for a brief, but campus-wide electrical shutdown. On Friday morning, July 30th, all electrical service to the campus will be turned off between the hours of 6:00AM and (not later than) 7:00AM. This is a necessary step in preparation for a longer scheduled electrical outage which will occur later this summer in order to tie the new building in to the campus electrical feeders. Representatives of Plant Operations, Public Safety and IT/Networking will be on hand to insure a smooth restoration. Please contact Plant Operations at x:2568 with questions or concerns.

Asbestos Abatement

In preparation for replacement of the VCT flooring, there will be an asbestos abatement tomorrow (Wednesday, 7/14) in Shinnecock 112 - the Marine Sciences Lab. Appropriate notifications and containment barriers will be installed.
