Fire Marshall Inspection
I have just been informed that a Fire Marshall from the NYS Office of Fire Prevention will be on campus today to conduct our semi-annual safety audit. Please be mindful to avoid simple items that are often cited in office areas including: doors chocked open and overloaded electrical receptacles Thanks.

Tick Alert
Routine drag net sampling around the campus conducted yesterday by pest control experts from the Cornell Cooperative Extension indicates a relatively high concentration of larval ticks in the field to the West of the Greenhouse. Appropriate precautions should be taken by those traveling through this area.

Transition to Cooling
The campus heating boilers are officially off line will be laid up for the summer season as of today. Please dress appropriately for cooler weather which is forecast for the middle of this week.
Water Conservation Project
Due to a delay in materials delivery, the Campus Water Conservation Project (replacement of bathroom fixtures) that was scheduled to begin today has been pushed back one week. Construction in the Central Energy Plant and Shinnecock Buildings will now commence next Monday (5/24). Work in the Peconic and Corchaug Buildings will occur the week of 6/1, and the Orient and Woodlands Buildings will be completed the week of 6/8. As discussed, there will be intermittent water outages related to this activity, but the intent is that at least one set (Men's & Women's) of bathrooms will be kept operational in each building at all times.
