Domestic hot and cold water service has been restored throughout the Orient Building.  Thank you for your patience.

There has been a failure on the domestic water heat exchanger in the Orient Building.  The resulting leak has been isolated, but until it is repaired there will be no domestic hot water anywhere in the Orient Building.  There is also no cold water at the sinks in the student bathrooms in Orient on both levels.  Water to the toilets, and for the building heating system is unaffected.  Anticipated restoration of service is 5PM today.  It is suspected that this failure resulted from a sudden spike in pressure on our water supply from the Suffolk County Water Authority.  There was at least one other leak that occurred in the Shinnecock Building at approximately the same time.  If you notice possible leaks elsewhere on campus, please contact Plant Operations at x-2568 as quickly as possible.
