The flood waters have receded in S101, and the room has been restored for normal use.

Monday, October 27, 2008

During daytime hours tomorrow (Tuesday, 10/28), a temporary shutdown of the campus heating plant is scheduled to conduct necessary repairs.  Forecast temperatures are relatively mild, and most buildings should hold their heat pretty well.  Conditions will be closely monitored. Please contact Plant Operations at x:2568 with any concerns.
Update on the electrical problems in Orient:
As some of you have already noted, the servers for internet and telephone service in Orient were also temporarily affected by this outage. The problem with the disconnect has now been resolved. At some future date, we may need to schedule a larger building-wide electrical shutdown to replace the affected equipment, but for now all circuits are fully restored.
As a result of a failed electrical disconnect switch in the Orient Building, we are currently experiencing power problems which are affecting both the supply and return fans for the building, and the computers in O237.  This matter is being addressed with the utmost urgency.  Please contact Plant Operations at x-2568 with any questions.  Updates to follow.
