The Orient Building Fire Alarm system will be in local mode only today from 10AM until approximately 4PM. All building devices will be functional, but the system will not dispatch the Fire Department automatically on alarm. This is related to ongoing welding in O138

In order to restore the campus heating system to full operation following our infrastructure improvement projects this summer, there is some welding necessary in the Orient Building Mechanical Room (O138). Every precaution has been taking to minimize possible disruption from this work. This effort will continue in various forms throughout the week.
