As of this morning (Friday, 5/2) the heating boilers at the Eastern Campus Central Energy Plant have been laid up for seasonal maintenance. The shutdown date for the heating system was pushed up slightly from our usual schedule this year for several reasons:
  • To facilitate expedited delivery of several major capital projects currently underway
  • To conserve fuel at a time of significantly elevated energy costs
  • Based on a short term warming trend weather outlook
Plant Operations will of course attempt to regulate temperature conditions inside the buildings to the greatest extent possible during this transitional period. I would ask that those of you in positions of influence within your respective buildings assist in disseminating this information, and advising staff and students to dress appropriately.
