Plant Operations is winterizing the campus irrigation system today by blowing out lines around the quad.

The Shinnecock elevator has been restored to full operation.

I have just received word that the annual inspection of the campus by the NYS Office of Fire Prevention has been scheduled for this Wednesday 11/7. Please be aware of this evolution, and take steps to insure that easily avoided yet routinely cited violations do not exist in your areas of responsibility. These would include: Extensions cords used for permanent wiring, daisy chaining electrical surge protectors, and blocking of egress pathways.

Update on the Shinnecock Elevator: The motor-starter relay for this elevator has burned out and requires a replacement. An expedited order for the repair parts has been placed, but the car will likely be non-functional until at least Wednesday 11/7.

The Shinnecock Building elevator has been temporarily shut down while performance problems with this equipment are being investigated.
