Annually Required Fire Alarm Testing

Simplex-Grinnell will be on campus tomorrow testing the functionality of fire detection devices in all buildings.  Testing will be conducted in silent mode, with door releases bypassed, so disruption to normal activities should be minimal.

Orient Drain Line Cleared

The plumbing problem in Orient has been resolved, and all services restored.  Thank you for your patience.

Water supply to the entire Orient Building will be interrupted until further notice so that a blocked main drain line can be cleared. 

LED Sign - Service Restoration

The LED Sign at the Main Entrance is back in operation.

The LED sign at the main entrance will be out of service for several hours this morning (Thursday, 1/19), to allow for necessary equipment upgrades. 

Power Outage Notice

The campus experienced a momentary loss of electrical power from our external LIPA feed at approximately 1:51 this afternoon.  Our power supply now appears to be be stabilized, and Plant Operations is in the process of restoring affected equipment.

Shinnecock Drain Line Cleared

Water service is restored in Shinnecock, and all rest rooms are reopened.

Water in the Shinnecock Building has been temporarily turned off while a drain line is being cleared.

Orient Building - Water Supply Restored

The drain line blockage has been cleared, and water supply is now restored throughout the Orient Building.

Orient Building - Water Shut Off

Due to a blockage in a main drain line in Orient,  it has become necessary to turn off the water supply to that building temporarily.  Bathrooms in Orient are not functional at present.  Signs have been posted.  Faculty and staff should be directed to other campus buildings.
